How to Install Windows XP TFTP

by Garrett Genet

While a TFTP client already comes installed with Windows XP (see Resources), there is no inherent TFTP server software installed with the operating system. A TFTP server will allow you to accept incoming connections from TFTP clients and transfer files. You can obtain TFTP server software from a number of software developers off the Internet. Installation is simple; merely download the program of your choice, and start the installation file.

1

Download a TFTP server from the list (see Resources) of open-source programs.

2

Double-click the installer file to start the installation process.

3

Follow any on-screen instructions to finish installation. When you've finished, restart your computer.
