How to Upgrade Your Old Account

If you were one of the people who started blogging before all the hype, then chances are you still have an old account. Now you can upgrade to a new Blogger account, powered by Google, that is even easier to use and has more features

Log in to with Your Old Account

Start at the home page (see the Resources section below).

Take a tour of the new if you are unsure whether or not you want to upgrade your account. Click on the 'Take a Tour' link to start.

Click on the 'Switch Now' link to start the process of upgrading your account.

Provide your old username and password in the text boxes provided.

Read the new 'Terms of Service' by clicking on the link and check the box to agree.

Click on the 'Continue' link.

Create a Google Account to Use the New

Enter your current email address. Creating a Google account does not automatically give you a gmail account.

Choose a password. Passwords should be at least six characters long and include numbers or symbols to make it more difficult to guess.

Reenter the password and type the word you see in the word verification field provided for security purposes.

Agree to the terms of service and click on the 'I accept. Create my account' link.

Use an existing Google account to sign in. If you already have a Google account, you can apply it to your new account and get started.

Upgrade and Use the New

Check your email to confirm your new Google account. Click on the link provided in the email or copy the URL into your address bar.

Sign in to your new account.

Use the new features, which include drag-and-drop editing, privacy options and options for RSS feeds.
