How to Play a CAF file

by Alizarin Black

A Core Audio File, or CAF, is an audio file that stores text, audio, annotations, channel layouts, markers and other data. CAF files are similar to the WAV and AIFF audio formats, except you can store more than 4 gigabytes (GB) of data. Goldwave is a digital editor and audio player for Windows 7 that's the only audio player that plays CAF files. You must download this player in order to listen to a CAF file.

Download and install Goldwave.

Launch Goldwave from your desktop.

Click "Open" on the Goldwave toolbar to open a CAF file.

Click the green "Play" button to play a CAF file.
