How to Fix the EXE LNK & Regfile for Windows XP

by TS Jordan

The EXE (executable) LNK and registry files on your Windows XP system are files that enable Windows XP to properly operate in conjunction with the hardware installed on your computer system. Repairing these files is only possible by overwriting the faulty versions through a repair installation of the XP operating system. Plan to spend 40 minutes fixing this issue.

Insert the XP CD into the CD-ROM drive. Restart your computer.

Press any key as prompted to boot from disc.

Press "Enter" at the welcome and "F8" at the license terms.

Press "R" to repair the faulty EXE and registry system files on your XP operating system.
