How to Create Links in Apple Keynote

by K.C. Winslow

The Apple presentation application Keynote allows you to create five types of links in a presentation. Clicking a link to a slide takes you to the specified slide. Clicking a link to a Web page opens a Web address in the system's default browser. Clicking a link to another Keynote slideshow launches a separate presentation. Clicking an email link opens a pre-addressed email in the system's default mail program. Clicking a link to the exit feature stops the slideshow.

Select the text or object you want to turn into a link.

Press the "Inspector" icon in the upper-right corner of the window.

Click the blue icon with the arrow to open the "Hyperlink" tab of the inspector.

Select the desired link type in the "Link To" menu. Specify the slide, Web page, slideshow or email you want to link to in the "Inspector" window. The "Exit" link does not require any additional information.

Click the red button to close the "Inspector" window.
