by Diana Braun

Windows Explorer is a file manager application included with the Windows operating system. The application provides a graphical interface to access files and folders on a computer. If you have a lot of folders on your computer, navigation can become cumbersome. Folder Maker is an application available for free that allows you to color code your folders for easy navigation and sorting.

Download and install Folder Maker (see Resources).

Right-click the file or folder you would like to color code.

Click "Mark Folder" from the drop-down menu.

Click "Colors" and then choose the color of your choice from the drop-down menu.
