How to Format FreeAgent Go

The Seagate FreeAgent Go external hard drive is a small portable external storage device that can store and backup all of your videos, photographs, files, music and documents. The FreeAgent Go hard drive is a docking-style device that connects to your computer in a few seconds. If you ever need to reformat or securely erase all of the data on the FreeAgent Go, you can use the reformatting tool included on your drive.

Click "Start," "Run."

Type "diskmgmt.msc" in the "Run" menu text box and click "OK."

Right-click in the "Unallocated" menu button and choose "New Partition." Allow the partition wizard to open and format your FreeAgent Go drive.

Unplug your FreeAgent from the power cord. Restart your computer and plug the power cord back into your FreeAgent.
