How to Reset a Toshiba Projector Lamp Timer
By William Pullman
Updated January 09, 2018
The lamps used in projectors have a limited lifespan and need replacement after approximately 1,500 hours of use. Toshiba projectors have a lamp timer to keep you informed of how many hours your lamp has been used. When the total hours used approaches 1,500, the projector displays a warning. Even if you replace the lamp, the warning will appear on the screen until you reset the lamp timer.
Unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet.
Turn the main power switch to the "On" position.
Press and hold the "On/Standby," "Menu" and "Input" buttons at the same time. The buttons are on the projector. Though the same buttons are found on the remote control, the reset only works with the buttons on the projector.
Plug the power cord back into the outlet while holding the buttons in Step 3. The lamp timer will reset when the projector receives power.
Tips
Make sure you reset the lamp timer no more than 10 minutes after the new lamp is first used to ensure accurate lamp use time.
