How to Double Space on WordPad

by Lucosi Fuller

When you're using Microsoft WordPad to create a document, and the lines appear to be too close together, the first thing you might want to do is to hit the "Enter" key to space the lines, which would give the document an awful appearance. Besides interfering with the document's appearance, using the "Enter" key to double-space may cause you to lose your ideas because you're so worried about having to hit the key after every line. To avoid having to do this, you can use a keyboard shortcut to double-space every line or lines you select once you're finished with your entire document.

Open Microsoft Wordpad and type out a document.

Press the "Ctrl" key and the "A" key simultaneously to highlight the entire document, or you can highlight an individual section for double-spacing by clicking and dragging the mouse over the selected section.

Press the "Ctrl" key and the "2" key to double-space the document.
