How to Change the Color of the Sticky Notes

by Richard Kalinowski

Windows 7 "Sticky Notes" let you post reminders on your computer's desktop. Using the notes is a simple matter of clicking the note and typing your message. Touchscreen computers even let you write directly on the note using your finger or pen-like computer stylus. If you use several "Sticky Notes" on your desktop to sort information, changing the color of each note provides quick visual reference or categorizing of your important notes.

Right-click the note.

Browse the color options that appear on screen. You can choose from blue, green, pink, purple, white and yellow.

Click the color you want to use for that note. The color change is automatic.
