How to Switch the Speakers on Bluetooth Headphones

by Joshua Laud

If your laptop or computer has Bluetooth capabilities and you have Bluetooth headphones, then you can play your computer audio with a Bluetooth device. Bluetooth utilizes the Advanced Audio Distribution Profile. Switching from speakers to headphones is useful if you need to use your laptop in a quiet environment such as on a train, in a library or late in the evening. You can switch the speaker setup via the Sound properties in Windows.

Click "Start," then "Control Panel."

Click "Hardware and Sound." Click "Device and Printer."

Click "Bluetooth Devices." This will return a window displaying all Bluetooth devices.

Double-click your Bluetooth headphones to open the "Sound" properties.

Click your Bluetooth headphones, click "Set Default," click "Apply," then "OK."
