How to Determine a Bluetooth Stack

by Carter McBride

Your Bluetooth stack helps control your Bluetooth devices. If you have a Bluetooth adapter on your computer, either built in or as a dongle, then the device will install drivers which includes your Bluetooth stack. As with all devices on a Windows operating system, Windows lists the device in the Device Manager. Device Manager has a list of all installed devices on the computer and also shows what is working and not working. You should use Device Manager to find your Bluetooth stack.

Open the "Start" menu.

Select "Control Panel."

Click "Hardware."

Select "Device Manager."

Click the "+" sign next to Bluetooth devices.

Right-click your Bluetooth device and select "Properties."

Click "Driver." This displays your Bluetooth stack.
