How to Connect My Samsung Cell Phone to My PC Using Bluetooth (12 Steps)

Newer PCs feature built-in Bluetooth transceivers that can accommodate several Bluetooth devices and peripherals. When connected, the built-in Bluetooth technology of both the Samsung cell phone and PC allows the user to share documents, music, video, and to sync email and other programs wirelessly.
Activate Bluetooth on PC
Step 1
Click the "Start" button and type "Services.msc" in the search box. Press "Enter" on the keyboard to launch the "Services" window.
Step 2
Right-click "Bluetooth" from the services list. Click "Properties" from the pop-up menu.
Step 3
Click the "General" tab. Click the drop-down menu next to "Startup type." Click "Automatic." Click "OK" to save the changes and return to the "Services" window.
Step 4
Right-click "Bluetooth" services. Click "Start" from the pop-up menu. Close the "Services" window and return to the desktop.
Step 5
Click "Start" and type "Bluetooth" in the search box. Press "Enter" on the keyboard to launch the "Bluetooth" services window.
Step 6
Click "Change Bluetooth settings." Click the "Options" tab, and under "Discovery", check "Allow Bluetooth devices to find this computer," then "Alert me when a new Bluetooth device wants to connect". Click "Apply" then "OK" to close out of the window.
Activate Bluetooth on Samsung Cell Phone
Step 1
Press the "Menu" key from the Home screen. Locate and tap the "Settings" icon. From the "Settings" menu, tap "Wireless and network," then "Bluetooth settings."
Step 2
Tap "Bluetooth" located at the top of the "Bluetooth settings" list. Tap "On" to activate the service.
Step 3
Tap "Visibility" or "Visible" to change the device from "Hidden" to "Always Visible" or "Visible for 3 minutes."
Connect the Devices
Step 1
Click "Start" and type "Bluetooth" in the search box. Press "Enter" on the keyboard to launch the "Bluetooth" services window. Click "Add a Bluetooth device." Windows will search for the Samsung cell phone.
Step 2
Select "Pair without using a code," and enter the Samsung cell phone passkey. Click "Next."
Step 3
Click "Close" once the two devices are connected.

Tips
- If your PC is not equipped with a Bluetooth transceiver, purchase a separate dongle and insert it into the USB port. Allow the PC to discover the dongle, and pair the computer to the cell phone.
