How to Connect a Jabra Earpiece to a PC
By Si Kingston
Most earpieces Jabra makes are designed to work with mobile Bluetooth devices such as cell phones. Pieces like the Jabra Extreme are designed specifically for PC use and come with a USB adapter. These small earpieces include both a speaker and microphone. They can also be used to listen to music, but Jabra explains that the earpiece doesn't support streaming Bluetooth audio. Instead, the earpiece is forced to stream music using the headset profile, which has limited bandwidth and isn't suitable to listen to high-quality audio.
Plug the Jabra earpiece's USB adapter into the USB port on the PC.
Place the Jabra earpiece next to the USB adapter.
Power on the Jabra earpiece by hitting the power button on the side of the device. The earpiece and USB adapter will automatically pair, or connect to one another. The light on the USB adapter should be solid green. If the light is not solid green, you will need to manually place the adapter in pairing mode as described in the next step.
Press the pairing button on the adapter for 10 seconds until the light on the adapter turns solid blue. (The pairing mode button is the only button featured on the face of the device.) Turn on the Jabra earpiece and hold the "Answer/End" button until the indicator light on the USB adapter flashes blue. Place the earpiece next to the adapter and the adapter light will display a solid green light when the two are paired.
