Items you will need
The Sims Deluxe Edition
Windows XP or earlier computer
Released in 2002, the Sims Deluxe Edition includes the original Sims game, along with its first expansion pack--"Living Large." The Deluxe Edition also bundles the Sim Creator, which allows you to create custom Sims or characters, as well as some new items, skins, and wallpapers. Due to its age, the Sims Deluxe works best on Windows XP and earlier versions of the Windows operating system.
Check your computer against the game's system requirements (please see Resources for link to requirements).
Insert the first Sims Deluxe Edition disk. Allow the installation program to automatically begin.
Follow the on-screen prompts to begin the installation.
Insert the second disk when prompted, and follow the on-screen prompts to complete the installation.
Download the Sims Deluxe Edition patch. (Please see Resources for link.) Save the file to your desktop or to another easy-to-find location, then double-click the file to install the patch.
