By Matt McGew
Updated September 28, 2017
Using a Bluetooth headset turns your iPhone into a hands-free device for making and receiving telephone calls. When initially syncing your iPhone with the Bluetooth headset, you need to complete a pairing process that teaches the devices how to communicate with each other. After completing this initial sync, you iPhone will automatically connect to the Bluetooth headset when both devices are powered on and placed within range.
Press and hold the "Power" button on the Bluetooth headset. Wait for the LED light on your Bluetooth device to flash indicating the device has entered pairing mode.
Tap the "Settings" icon on your iPhone.
Select the "General" option.
Tap "Bluetooth" and tap the "ON" button.
Select the Bluetooth headset from the list of Bluetooth devices.
Enter "0000" when your iPhone prompts you to enter a passcode for the Bluetooth device.
Wait while your iPhone and the Bluetooth headset sync and complete the pairing process. Your iPhone will prompt you when this process completes.
