How to Set Up a Bluetooth Connection on the iPhoneby ContributorUpdated September 28, 2017
The Bluetooth feature available on the Apple iPhone allows the user to wirelessly connect the phone to a Bluetooth headset, Apple wireless keyboard or other third-party Bluetooth device. Many new vehicles can synchronize with an iPhone and play music from it over the car system using Bluetooth technology. The iPhone must first be paired with the Bluetooth device before operation. Afterwards, the connection can be turned on and off at will.
Tap the "Settings" icon on the home screen of the iPhone. Tap "General" followed by "Bluetooth."
Toggle the "On/Off" switch next to "Bluetooth" to the "On" position to make the iPhone discoverable. Turn on your Bluetooth device, and it will show in the list of available devices.
Tap the name of the Bluetooth device you are pairing with the iPhone to make a connection. Type a passkey provided with the Bluetooth device if prompted.
Disconnect by toggling the Bluetooth "On/Off" switch back to the "Off" position.
If you restore the software on the iPhone, you'll need to pair the Bluetooth device again.
