How to Remove Pinnacle Drivers

by Gregory Hamel

Pinnacle Systems is a computer hardware and software manufacturer that specializes in computer video. Like other hardware devices, certain Pinnacle devices come with device drivers that must be installed before your operating system is able to use the device. If you plan on getting rid of a Pinnacle hardware device, you may wish to remove the device's driver software first to free up hard disk space. Removing drivers can also be a way to troubleshoot computer errors; if errors cease after removing a driver, the driver may have been the cause.

Click "Start," right-click on "Computer" or "My Computer" and select "Manage."

Left-click on "Device Manager" in the left-hand column. A list of device categories appears in the right-hand column.

Locate the Pinnacle hardware device in your device list. Click on the plus (+) sign next to any device category to expand a list of your installed devices. The device category varies depending on the device you are using, so simply continue expanding categories until you find the device.

Right-click on the device in the device list, select "Properties," click the "Driver" tab and then click "Uninstall." Confirm that you wish to uninstall the driver, and then wait as the driver is removed.

Tips

  • check New driver software is a potential source of computer errors. If you install a new device and it leads to problems, consider installing new drivers or replacing the device.
  • check A device that requires a driver will not function after the driver is removed.
