How to Zoom Out on Dell Laptops
By C. Taylor
Between your Dell laptop's touchpad, Windows 7's Ease of Access feature and software zoom support, there are numerous ways to zoom in on text and images, oftentimes by accident. When this happens, it is not always obvious how to zoom out again. Depending on how the window was zoomed in, you might need to press a key combination, perform a gesture on your touchpad, use your mouse or navigate a menu.
Step 1
Place your thumb and index finger on opposite corners of your Dell touchpad and pinch them together. This method zooms out after zooming in by spreading your fingers out on the touchpad.
Step 2
Hold the "Ctrl" key and press "-" to zoom out using your keyboard. Pressing "-" repeatedly zooms out farther.
Step 3
Hold the "Ctrl" key and move your center mouse wheel down to zoom out using your mouse.
Step 4
Hold the "Win" key and press "-" to zoom out using Windows 7's Magnifier. Pressing "-" repeatedly zooms out farther.
Step 5
Click "View," point to "Zoom" and click "Zoom Out" on many software menus. This does not apply to every program.
