Chatting online is a popular way of communication used by many people. You can easily send instant messages to friends and family from your own home, even while working on another project on your computer. You can find Yahoo screen names at the click of a button, allowing you to either find a new screen name for yourself, or giving you the opportunity to track down friends by finding their Yahoo screen names.
Finding a Yahoo Screen Name for Yourself
Open an Internet browser, and go to http://www.Yahoo.com.
Click the "Yahoo Messenger" tab on the lefthand side of the page, a pop-up box will display.
Click "Sign Up" and you will be re-directed to a sign up page.
Enter personal information such as name, gender, birthdate.
Enter the screen name you wish to use under "Select ID and Password." If the screen name is not in use, you will be able to register it. If someone else has already registered that screen name, a small box will appear telling you to try a different name, and will also give you suggestions as to similar names that are available.
Select the password you wish to use with the screen name.
Answer two security questions and answers that will help you if you forget your password, and will also prevent others from logging into your account without permission.
Click "Create My Account" when all information has been filled out, and you are now able to use the screen name.
Finding Someone Else's Yahoo Screen Name
Open an Internet browser, and visit the Yahoo 360 homepage (http://360.yahoo.com/search.html).
Log into your account by submitting your screen name and password.
Type the screen name that you are looking for in the "Search" box on the righthand side of the page. Enter as much information as you know; screen name, person's real name, partial screen name, etc.
Browse through the search results until you find the person you are looking for. Click on their screen name, and you will be able to view their profile, and send a private message.
