Withdrawing a Recommendation on LinkedIn
By Melissa King
LinkedIn enables you to network and share career goals with your professional contacts and the contacts of your friends, clients and business partners. LinkedIn's recommendations feature allows you to endorse a contact by writing a small review of his or her professional performance. This feature helps others in your network find a new partner or employee. Occasionally, you may leave a recommendation for the wrong person or want to retract your review. LinkedIn lets you withdraw your recommendation at any time.
Open your Web browser and go to the LinkedIn website (link in Resources). Type your email address and password and then click "Sign In."
Point to "Profile" at the top of the page and then click "Recommendations."
Click "Edit" next to the recommendation you want to remove.
Click "Withdraw this recommendation" and then click "Confirm."
Tips
When you click "Edit" next to a recommendation, you have the option to change it. Type your changes in the box and then click "View/edit" and "Send."
LinkedIn members aren't notified when you withdraw a recommendation.
