How to Watch Netflix on a Sony Bravia

Bravia is a line of high-definition televisions manufactured by Sony. The assorted models included in the product line vary in the features that they offer. Some Bravia models include networking hardware that is typically coupled with Internet software. Network-ready Bravia models can then be connected to the Internet in order to access several specific features, such as the streaming of Netflix "Instant View" movies. Owners of these Bravia models who also have Netflix accounts can watch Netflix streaming videos directly on their televisions without the need for any additional devices.

Step 1

Connect one end of the ethernet cable to the network port on the back of your television, then connect the other end of the cable to an open port on the back of your router. Be sure to use one of the numbered ports on the back of the router, as opposed to the port labeled "Internet" or "WLAN."

Step 2

Turn on your Bravia television, then press the "Home" button to access the menu.

Step 3

Navigate to the "Network" section, then press the "Up" or "Down" arrows to choose the "Activate Enhanced Features" option.

Step 4

Press the "Select" button to obtain your registration code. Be sure to write down the supplied code.

Step 5

Open an Internet browser window on your computer and navigate to Sony's "My Essentials" website.

Step 6

Click the blue "New to My Essentials" link, then enter the requested personal information, including your email address.

Step 7

Select the "Sony Bravia" option for the device that you are registering, then input the registration code that you previously wrote down. Click the "Continue" button.

Step 8

Navigate to the email inbox for the email account that you supplied when registering on the "My Essentials" website.

Step 9

Open the "My Essentials" email and click the link in the body of the email to complete the registration.

Step 10

Press the "Home" button on your Bravia remote control, then navigate to the "Video" menu.

Step 11

Use the "Up" or "Down" arrow to navigate to the "Netflix" option, then press the "Select" button.

Step 12

Select the "Yes" option to confirm that you are already a Netflix member, then write down the supplied activation code.

Step 13

Open an internet browser window on your computer and navigate to the Netflix activation site.

Step 14

Enter the email address and password associated with your Netflix account, then click the "Sign In" button.

Step 15

Type the activation code supplied by your Bravia television, then click the "Activate" button. Once the Netflix servers have registered your device, you will be able to navigate the "Instant View" Netflix site and begin streaming video to your Bravia television.
