The iMac includes a digital media suite of applications, wireless Internet connectivity and a built-in microphone. You can use the built-in microphone to record audio tracks off the Internet. Apple's GarageBand software can use the microphone to record and save the Internet audio.

Open GarageBand on your iMac. All iMacs come with GarageBand installed. Click the "Finder" application in the desktop and then click "Applications." Double-click the GarageBand icon.

Click "Track" and select "New Track." Choose the "Audio Track" option when asked in the new window.

Open a browser application. Enter the URL of the page you want to record into the address bar. Press the "Enter" button on your keyboard.

Click the new track you created in GarageBand. Press the "R" key to start recording audio. You see a red marker moving across the screen to show that the track is recording.

Click the "Play" button on the audio file. Click the "Stop" button on the audio file when you do not want it to play anymore. Click the "Stop" button inside of GarageBand to stop the recording.
