How to Use a Quasar Universal Remote
By Matthew Fortuna
The Quasar Universal Remote is a popular universal remote control manufactured by RCA. This remote, like most other universal remotes, replaces the need for various remotes cluttering your entertainment center. Used with VCRs, DVD players and stereos as well as TVs, the Quasar remote is used by programming it first and then switching from component to component to control your viewing and listening experience.
Turn on the component that you are programming manually and press and hold the "Code Search" button on your Quasar remote.
Press and release the button for the component you wish to program (TV, VCR, DVD, etc.) while still holding the Code Search button.
Release the Code Search button and press the power button on your Quasar remote slowly until the newly programmed component responds by turning off. Once the component responds, press and release the "Enter" button. Start over and program your other components in the same way.
Press a component button ("TV," "VCR," "DVD") once you have finished programming to start using a component. Once you have pressed the button for the component, press the power button to turn it on.
Use your keypad and other buttons to change the channel, song or whatever action you desire, and press the button for a different component to switch to controlling that one.
