How to Use My JVC Everio on My Mac
By Greyson Ferguson
The JVC Everio is a home user based digital video camera, which captures the video content onto a built-in hard drive. Once on the hard drive, you are able to upload the information to your Mac computer. Thankfully, Mac comes with iMovie, a bare bones video editing program used to create simple home videos. The upload process only takes as long as the video, so you may or may not need to make some extra time available to upload the contents to the computer.
Plug the FireWire cable into the FireWire connection port on the side of the JVC Everio. Insert the other end of the cable into the FireWire port on the Mac.
Power on the JVC Everio, then click the "iMovie" icon on the dock at the bottom of the screen. Wait a moment and the software loads.
Click the "Capture" feature, then select the JVC Everio as the device you wish to import form. Click "Record," and the video records directly onto the Mac computer.
Select "Stop" at any time to stop the recording. The file now appears in the library of the iMovie software. You don't need to save the project because the video file is now stored in the program.
