How to Use the GPS on My Boost Mobile Phone

by William Pullman

Electronic device manufacturers are increasingly incorporating global positioning systems (GPS) into many devices. Boost Mobile has incorporated GPS technology into several phone models. The built-in GPS antenna in Boost Mobile phones connects to GPS satellites and provides information on the location of the phone. This is useful when the user is unsure of his location or if emergency personnel need to reach the user.

Extend the antenna on your phone to maximize satellite reception.

Press the "Menu" button on the phone. The "Menu" button is located to the left of the left navigation button. A list of options will appear on the screen.

Highlight "GPS" using the up or down navigation buttons and press the "OK" button on the phone.

Select "Position" from the list of options and press "OK."

Hold the phone away from your body in an open location, if possible. The phone better connects with GPS satellites in open locations. It may take a few minutes for your phone to receive information on your location.

Scroll through the GPS information that appears on the screen. You will receive information on your location, the accuracy of your location and the number of satellites the phone used to determine your location.

Press the left soft key under the word "Refresh" on the LCD to recalculate your location.
