How to Use Call Forwarding on MCI Phone Plans
By Leonardo R. Grabkowski
Most MCI phone plans offer a number of features for call forwarding, although some basic plans may not have the feature. If your MCI service includes call forwarding, you can customize it to forward incoming calls based on your preferences. This is a good option if you want to forward unanswered calls to your cell phone when you are away from home. You can enable call forwarding to your MCI voicemail or to another telephone number.
Dial "72" followed by the forwarding phone number (including area code) to forward all incoming calls. If you want to forward all incoming calls to your MCI voicemail, dial "72123" (123 is the voicemail code).
To deactivate this call forwarding option, dial "*73."
Dial "08" followed by the telephone number to forward all incoming calls and receive a notification. If you use this feature, your telephone will ring each time a call is forwarded (you still won't be able to answer). To forward to voicemail, dial "08123."
To deactivate this feature, dial "*09."
Dial "92" followed by the telephone number to forward all unanswered calls (after the six ring default). To forward unanswered calls to voicemail, dial "92123."
To deactivate this feature, dial "*93."
Dial "68" followed by the telephone number to forward calls when the signal is busy (for example, if you are on the other line). Dial "68123" to forward busy calls to your voicemail.
To deactivate this feature, dial "*88."
- You can enable multiple options, except in the case of "All Incoming Calls," which automatically enables each feature. If you have multiple options enabled (such as busy and unanswered forwarding), you can deactivate them all at once by dialing "*91."
