How to Use an eBay Gift Card
By Jason Artman
Like many other popular online merchants, eBay sells gift cards to the public. Gift cards may be redeemed to cover all or part of the cost of any item purchased through the website. If you have received an eBay gift card, use it to pay for the next item that you win on eBay. You do need a PayPal account to use an eBay gift card.
Visit the eBay website and click "Sign in." Enter your user name and password, then click the "Sign in" button. If you don't have an account, you will need to register.
Hover your cursor over "My eBay" at the top of the screen, and click "Won" when it appears on the menu. You will be brought to the My eBay page for auctions that you have won.
Click the link for the auction that you would like to pay for, then click the "Pay Now" button at the top of the page. You will be asked to enter your PayPal user name and password. After entering this information, you will be redirected to the eBay checkout page.
Scroll down the page until you find the area labeled "Redemption Code." Enter your gift card number exactly as it is shown on the card or email.
Click "Apply," then click "Update Total." If the amount of money on your gift card equals or exceeds the cost of the item, you may confirm your address and complete the checkout process. Otherwise, you will need to pay for the remainder of the item using your PayPal account.
