How to Use AOL to Sign On to Facebook

by Ryan Menezes

Though Facebook originally restricted the domains you could use to join the site, you can now sign on with any email address, including AOL addresses. You don't need to have offered this address when you registered for Facebook -- you can associate multiple addresses with your Facebook account and sign on to the site with each of them. Alternative email addresses can help you recover your account if you lose access to both your Facebook account and your primary email address.

1

Open Facebook in your browser and sign on with your account's current email address.

2

Click the gear icon in the page's navigation bar and click "Account Settings" to open your General Account Settings page.

3

Click "Edit" beside "Email" to expand the Email pane.

4

Click "Add Another Email" and type your AOL email address into the box labeled "New Email."

5

Type your Facebook password into the "Password" box, and click "Save Settings" to add your AOL address to Facebook.

6

Click the gear icon in the navigation bar and click "Log Out" to sign out of Facebook.

7

Type your AOL email address and Facebook password into the page, then click "Log In" to use AOL to sign on to Facebook.
