How Do I Download Pictures From a Bushnell ImageView Digital Camera?

By Candace Benson

The Bushnell ImageView is a series of binoculars that feature built-in digital cameras. The ImageView makes it much easier (and automatic) to capture close-up views of birds and other wildlife. Instead of having to fiddle with a scope and a digital camera, you can focus and snap a picture. Bushnell includes a USB cable with its ImageView binoculars/cameras, and you will need the cable for downloading pictures from the ImageView to your computer. You can transfer the pictures using the file manager or the automatic image transfer wizard.

Step 1

Interface the Bushnell ImageView with your computer via the USB port. Plug the device directly into the port, not into a USB hub.

Step 2

Allow Windows opportunity to detect the digital camera/binoculars. Windows will load the required device drivers.

Step 3

Click on "Import Photos and Video" if Windows prompts you with an AutoRun window. Otherwise, skip to the next step. Select the folder where you wish to save the pictures, and give the photos a tag if you wish. Make sure you click on the check box next to "Always erase from device" to delete files after you transfer them to your computer.

Step 4

Click on "Start." In Windows Vista, click on the "Start Search" field and type "explorer." Click on "Windows Explorer." In Windows XP, click on "Run," then enter "explorer.exe." Press the "Enter" key.

Step 5

Find your Bushnell ImageView in the left column. Windows will have assigned it a drive letter, like your hard drive and optical drive.

Step 6

Expand the ImageView by clicking the "+" to the left of the drive.

Step 7

Find and expand the DCIM folder in the left column by clicking on the "+" to the left of the folder.

Step 8

Double-click on the folder in the right column.

Step 9

Click on "Edit" in the menu bar, then "Select all."

Step 10

Click on "Edit," then "Copy to Folder." Select the destination folder for your photos or create a new folder and select it. Click the "Copy" button.
