The Wii browser is one of various interactive channels available for Nintendo's console. Using your Wii remote, it allows users to perform common browsing activities. As of September 2009, the latest version of the Wii Browser (v9.30) supports a variety of USB keyboards to further maximize your browsing experience. The Internet Channel used to cost 500 Wii points to download but is now free. Upgrading the browser is typically an efficient process over the Internet.

Step 1

Verify your existing Internet Channel contains the latest version, if applicable.

Step 2

Click the "Internet Channel" followed by "Start."

Step 3

Click the "Home" icon from the browser's main interface and then click "Opera Powered," where the current version is displayed. If your existing browser is out of date, proceed to download the latest version.

Step 4

Click the "Wii Shop Channel" from the console's main menu. Click "Start Shopping" and allow the channel to connect to the main Nintendo servers.

Step 5

Select the "Wii Channels" option. Click the "Internet Channel" followed by "Yes" at the next confirmation screen. Allow the download to take place. After it's finished, you will be automatically returned to the Wii system menu.
