Established in 1937, Pioneer has been making car stereos and home audio products for decades. Some Pioneer car stereo systems feature satellite navigation systems that work in a similar fashion as other GPS products on the market. Although Pioneer offers several models of car stereos with navigation systems, the updating process for them is the same.

Step 1

Insert the Micro SD card into your computer.

Step 2

Go to the Pioneer website and navigate to the "Navigation, CD, and DVD Receivers" page (see References). Choose the model you own.

Step 3

Locate the firmware update link and click on it. Download the firmware to your computer. Double-click on the file to extract it.

Step 4

Locate the unzipped "AVICZ110" folder and copy it on to the Micro SD card. Once complete, remove the card and push it into the SD card slot of your Pioneer GPS device. Wait for up to 10 minutes for the firmware to be installed. Your Pioneer device has now been updated.
