How to Update your NVIDIA Drivers
By James B. Jones
NVIDIA has a wide array of devices for desktop and laptop computers, including video cards and motherboards. NVIDIA has taken steps to make finding the drivers for any device as easy as clicking a few menus.
Navigate to the NVIDIA website (see References) and click "Download Drivers" from the top menu bar. This will take you to the NVIDIA Driver Downloads page.
Select your product by going through the first three drop-down menus and selecting the product type, series and specific device. Choose your operating system and click "Search". This will take you to the support page for that product.
Click "Download" to download the drivers to your computer. Depending on the size of the files and the speed of your Internet connection, this could take some time. Remember where on your computer you download the files.
Double-click on the .exe file for your drivers. This will open a new window with simple instructions for installing the drivers. The installation is automated and may require a reboot.
- If you have Windows Vista or Windows 7, these drivers will automatically be downloaded and installed with each Windows Update cycle.
