How to Update Embedded Windows XP

Windows XP Embedded is an operating system for Windows-compatible mobile devices. Updating the software on your mobile device will give you the latest options and keep your device running smoothly. You don't have to be a computer expert to do so. You can use the Windows Update application on your computer.

Step 1

Connect your Windows XP Embedded device to your computer through a USB cable.

Step 2

Click the "Start" button, then go to the icon labeled "Control Panel."

Step 3

Click on the "Performance and Maintenance" icon, then click the "Windows Update" icon.

Step 4

Wait for the software to launch, then click the "Check for updates" link.

Click on the "Windows XP Embedded Update" from the menu, then click "Install Updates" at the bottom of your software screen.
