Facebook networking is useful for both personal and professional connections. If you notice that two of your current contacts either know each other, or might like to be introduced, suggest that they be friends. While your suggestion does not automatically link the two friends on Facebook, it lets them know you think they might like to be connected. After you send a friend suggestion, one of the parties will have to initiate a friend request.

Step 1

Point your browser to the page of one of your Facebook friends.

Step 2

Scroll down to the bottom of the featured friends list on the user's profile, which runs along the left side of the screen. Click on the "Suggest Friends" link.

Step 3

Type in the name of the friend you want to suggest in the "Find Friends" field. Alternatively, click on the thumbnail image of your friend in the list available.

Step 4

Click "Send Suggestions." Both of the parties will receive an email from Facebook suggesting that they become linked on the site.
