How to Unzip a Mac Fileby Katrina Matterhorn
Zip files are files that have been compressed due to their size. This can help when you need to download a large number for files for an application or even a game. Zipping them makes it smaller and more compatible with computer storage limits. Both Windows Vista and later as well as Mac Tiger OS X and later have built-in utilities to unzip Mac files without having to download any additional software.
