How to Unlock a Satellite Receiver
By Bryan Roberts
Satellite receiver boxes, which are needed to view satellite television programming, have the ability to enforce locking mechanisms to block children from watching unsuitable programming. If you wish to completely remove these locks from your satellite box, you can do so as long as you have the box's pass-code. Beyond that, the unlocking process is simple.
Step 1
Press the "Menu" button on your satellite receiver's remote control, then select the "Locks & Limits" option in the main menu.
Step 2
Select the "Edit" option in the locks menu, and enter the pass-code into the pop-up box with your remote's keypad.
Step 3
Select the "Unlock" option in the next menu to unlock the satellite receiver.
Step 4
Select the "Return" option after the unlocking process to exit the menus.
