SanDisk is a designer and manufacturer of flash memory cards. Memory cards store photos, music and other data on a variety of devices including digital cameras, handheld gaming consoles and computers. You can lock a SanDisk memory card to prevent files from being accidentally deleted. The card must be unlocked to make any changes to the files on the card or to transfer files from the card to a computer.

Unlock the SanDisk Memory Card

Hold the SanDisk memory card upright.

Slide the switch on the upper left side of the memory card up from the "Lock" position to unlock it.

Proceed to the "Toggle the Lock Switch" if the memory card still states that it is "write-protected" or "locked."

Toggle the Lock Switch

Toggle the "Lock" switch on your SanDisk memory card by sliding the switch up and down. Repeat this three times.

Slide the "Lock" switch down to the "Lock" position and wait 30 seconds.

Slide the "Lock" switch up to return to the "Unlock" position to unlock the card.
