How to Unlock a Verizon Phone If the Password Doesn't Work
By Marissa Willman
Your Verizon cell phone has password protection capabilities that allow you to lock your phone when not in use. Passwords consist of a four-digit numeric code. By default, the password is the last four digits of your cell phone number. The password can be changed to four digits you desire, however. If you lock your phone and are unable to remember your password, you may need to call the Verizon Wireless customer service department or visit a local store to have your phone unlocked.
Enter the last four numbers of your cell phone number into the password field of your cell phone. This is the default password and may unlock your phone. Another default password is "0000." Try these codes before continuing.
Call the Verizon Wireless customer service department at 1-800-922-0204. Explain the situation to the representative, who may be able to provide you with an unlock code over the phone.
Visit a local Verizon Wireless store. You can have someone help you to have your phone unlocked. Have the account holder accompany you to the store if the phone is not under your name. To unlock your phone, the representative may have to replace your SIM card. This can result in a loss of data stored on your phone, such as your contact list and pictures.
