How to Uninstall Java

by Kefa Olang

Although Java is an application that allows you to perform a variety of functions, such as playing 3D games and chatting online, you may want to uninstall it from your computer if it is damaged, corrupt or causing browsing errors. Whether you are using Windows 7, Vista or XP, you can remove Java from your computer quickly and safely.

Click the "Start" menu, and click the "Control Panel."

Click the "Uninstall a Program" link if you are using Windows 7 and Vista. This launches the "Uninstall or Change a Program" window. If you are using Windows XP, launch the "Uninstall or Change a Program" window by double-clicking "Add or Remove Programs."

Scroll down the window and click "Java." Click the "Uninstall" or "Remove" button. When prompted, confirm your selection. The setup wizard removes Java from your computer.
