How to Get Unblocked From Chatroulette

by Michael Roennevig

The Chatroulette portal allows you to connect with random strangers around the world through your webcam. The site consists of two media players; one displaying the feed from your webcam, the other showing images from your partner's. If you're receiving a message that says "Your IP address is banned," it's likely that you or somebody else using your IP address has violated the service's terms and conditions. The site doesn't provide a process to appeal your ban, but you can work around this by shielding your IP address through a proxy server.

1

Download a client-based proxy server program like Hide IP Next Generation or Invisible Browsing from Amplusnet.

2

Install your application and launch the program.

3

Select the option to hide your IP address. The method for doing so will depend on the program you're using. Check your application's help section or user guide if you're unsure how to do this. Your Internet connection will be routed through a proxy server.

4

Navigate to the Chatroulette website, select the option to allow Chatroulette access to your webcam and microphone and click on "Scan" to search for a partner. Chatroulette's servers will be presented with the IP address of your proxy server.
