How to Turn Off the Startup Sound on a Sony Bravia
By Kathryn Hatashita-Lee
The Sony BRAVIA TV gives a startup sound as the Sony logo appears on the screen. Models KDL-32BX300 and KDL-22BX300 give you a remote control option to adjust this default setting for a silent startup as you power on your TV. Pressing the arrow buttons plus the confirmation button will help you navigate the menu to the Startup Sound option.
Step 1
Press the “Power” button on the remote control to turn on your TV.
Step 2
Press the “Menu” button to display the menu settings on the Picture box.
Step 3
Press the down-arrow to navigate down the list until the “Setup” icon lights up with a white background. This icon resembles a three-tiered file cabinet.
Step 4
Press the “+” or center button on the remote control to open the list of Setup options in the right pane.
Step 5
Press the down-arrow until the “Startup Sound” option lights up.

Tips
- Some BRAVIA remote controls have a “Home” button instead of a “Menu” button.
- Point the remote control at the IR sensor located on the front of your TV. Keep the front of your TV clear of any obstruction that can block the path.
