How to Turn on Digital Converter Boxes Without Remotes
By Bryan Roberts
Digital converter boxes allow television users to view a digital television signal on their older, analog-only televisions. Most converter boxes come with a remote control, allowing users to turn on the converter box from a distance. However, if you do not have a remote control, you can still manually turn on the device.
Step 1
Connect the small end of your AC adapter cable to the AC port on the back of your converter box.
Step 2
Connect the large end of your converter box's AC adapter to an electrical socket neat your television.
Step 3
Press the "Power" button on your converter box. This button is either marked with the word "power" or a symbol of a closed circle with a line extending upward from the circle. Once you press this button, the converter box will power on.
