How To Transfer SMS From iPhone?

by Mario Calhoun

Short Message Service (SMS) messages, also known as texts, are automatically transferred from your iPhone to your iTunes program during the iPhone's synchronization process and backed up to the iTunes backup folder. Additional information included in the backup are your iPhone's bookmarks, mail messages, notes, call history, calendar events and application settings, according to Apple. In addition to transferring backups, iTunes can restore the backup to the same iPhone or a new iPhone if you wish to transfer your information to a different device.

Plug the iPhone's docking cable into the iPhone and into your computer's USB port.

Open iTunes. Select the iPhone's tab in the iTunes menu under "Devices" and right-click the tab. Click "Back Up."

Click the "Eject" icon on the iPhone's tab to disconnect the iPhone from your computer.
