How to Transfer From a Panasonic NV-GS27
By Nick Miles
The Panasonic NV-GS27 is a DV camcorder that records footage to a digital DV tape. Once you have recorded footage onto the camera, you can transfer that video footage to your computer using a USB connection. You can then edit the footage with any editing program, copy it to DVD or post it on the Internet.
Insert the USB cable into the USB port on the bottom right of the camera.
Insert the other end of the USB cable into a USB port on your computer.
Turn on the camcorder and set the mode dial to "Playback."
Turn on your computer and open your video editing software. PC users can use Windows Live Movie Maker and Mac users can use iMovie, both of which are complementary programs that come with the computer. You can also use more advanced editing programs such as Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere or Avid.
Click "File" in the editor window and select "Import." If you are prompted, select the USB camcorder as the device from which you wish to import.
Cue up your video and click "Import" to import your footage from the camcorder to your computer.

- If your computer does not recognize the USB connection of the camera, connect the camera to your computer using a FireWire cable instead.
