How to Transfer Games to an SD Card

By Jamie Lisse

If you have some games that you have downloaded to your computer, you may want those games on your smart phone or other portable device. To get those games off of your computer, you can transfer the games to an SD card and then insert the SD card into the device. As long as you have a media card slot, or media card reader, on your computer you can easily transfer games from the computer to the SD card. Transferring the games is a quick process that only takes a few minutes.

Insert the SD card into your computer's media card slot. If the computer doesn't have one, just use a USB media card reader.

Open a window on your computer where the games are located. For example, the the games are in the "My Downloads" folder, just open that folder in a new window.

Bring up the SD card in a new window. Open it from "My Computer" on a PC or "Finder" on a Mac.

Select the games that you want to transfer to the SD card and copy them. On a PC this is done by pressing "CTRL + C." On a Mac, this is done by pressing "command + C."

Click back into the SD card window. Paste in the games to transfer them by pressing "CTRL + V" on a PC" or "command + V" on a Mac.

Remove the SD card from your computer once the transfer has completed. Now you will be able to put the SD card with the games into any device that you want to.
