How to Transfer CD Music to My iPod Nanoby Amanda Gronot
The Apple iPod was part of an audio industry revolution that complete changed the way we listen to music. Instead of lugging around clunky CD players and books of discs that only hold a few songs, listeners can now carry thousands of songs, photos and videos in tiny, easily portable devices. The iPod nano is even smaller than the original iPod, measuring just 1.6 by 1.4 inches and weighing under half an ounce. The iPod makes it simple to transfer your songs from CD.
Install and open iTunes on your computer.
Insert the CD into your computer's CD disc drive. A page will appear in iTunes displaying the tracks on your CD. Sometimes iTunes will be able to recognize the CD and automatically fill in the song titles, artist and album name. If your CD is obscure, you will have to fill in that data yourself.
Deselect the checked boxes next to any tracks that you do not want to import.
Click "Import CD." Follow any necessary prompts.
Remove the CD from the computer disc drive.
Attach your iPod to its docking cable and plug the other end of the cable into your computer's USB port. Your iPod will automatically sync with iTunes and upload the music you added from the CD.
- This process is the same for all iPod models.
