How to Transfer an Apple Warrantyby Thomas King
Apple is a corporation that produces consumer electronics. There are two kinds of Apple warranties for these consumer electronics. The initial one-year warranty can be used as long as you have the serial number of the product. Thus, to transfer the initial one-year warranty to another person, you need only transfer the serial number. However, the Apple Care Protection Plan warranty requires additional steps in order to be transferred. These steps are detailed below.
Transfer the original proof of purchase to the new owner of the product that is under warranty.
Transfer the Apple Care Protection Plan Certificate and the Apple Care Protection Plan packaging to the new owner of the product that is under warranty. This includes all the printed materials and the terms and conditions.
Create a document with the "Plan Agreement Number," the serial numbers of the covered equipment being transferred, and the name, address, telephone number, and email address of the new owner.
Send the document created in Step 3 to Apple via email, fax, or mail at the following address: Apple Inc. ATTN: Agreement Administration MS: 217AC 2511 Laguna Blvd, Elk Grove, CA 95758, U.S. fax number 916-399-7337 firstname.lastname@example.org
