How to Text Message on a Nokia Cell Phone

by Amy McClain

If you own a Nokia phone, chances are it is capable of sending text messages. Text messages, or SMS (short message service), are a convenient way of communicating from cell phone to cell phone. Type out a quick message any time you can't be bothered with an actual phone call, and it gets delivered almost instantly to the recipient. If you've yet to try your Nokia's text messaging feature, you'll be happy to know that it isn't difficult.

1

Ensure your phone is powered on and is receiving network signal.

2

Press the "Menu" button and use your navigation keys to scroll to "Messaging" or "Text Messaging." (The option you will see varies by phone model.) Press "OK."

3

Select "New Message" or "Create New." Use your phone's keypad to type out your desired message. Press "Send" or "OK."

4

Use your keypad to type the recipient's phone number including area code. For some models, you will need to select "To Phone Number" before you are given this option.

5

Press "OK" to send your message.
