How to Tell If You Have a Genuine Microsoft Product
By Suvro Banerji
It is important that you know if your Microsoft product is genuine or not. If your product is not genuine, you always carry the risk of allowing malicious programs to breach Internet security and enter your computer without your knowledge. This is especially important if you use your computer to store important or sensitive data. Genuine Microsoft Software is a program that helps you determine whether your copy of Windows or Office is genuine. It is developed and supported by Microsoft.
Navigate to the Genuine Microsoft Software website (see the "Resources" section below). Depending on what you wish to validate, click either "Validate Windows" or "Validate Office."
Click "Validate Now" under "Option 1."
Click either "Open" or "Run this program from its current location." Follow the on-screen prompts to complete installation.
Navigate back to the web page from where you download the program.
Click "Continue" to find out if your copy of Microsoft Windows OS or Microsoft Office is genuine.
